Suggest a setting to disallow premoves

Surely it's possible to have a setting where you disable your ability to make premoves. Then you could choose to only be paired with opponents who have also disabled their premoves. Please consider this feature. Thank you.
Why would that be necessary to play against an opponent who can't premove?
another on list of questions that come up too often. Pre-moves are part of online chess. Live with it.
ChesswurmOTB, it would not be necessary but for many it would be desirable. The reason petri999 that this question is raised so many times is that so many people do not like to play in games where premoves are allowed. Premoves do not have to be a part of online chess if the functionality is in place for people to opt out (or not) if they choose. With this straight forward option there would no longer be a need for people to "live with it". If two players agree in advance (though their settings) that they do not wish to play using premoves then what's the problem with that?
This isn't OTB chess, there are different rules. Premoves are a part of online chess here. Either get good at it to compete at fast time controls (no desire of mine) or don't play those fast time controls.

You're asking the burden to be shifted to lichess to support this feature, because it needs to be a setting that is tracked with the game and advertised clearly as such. Probably also an option in area tournaments.

Good news is that you can make the change on github and initiate a pull request to @thibault to see if he would include it. Open source rules!
I played chess in the time when pre-move didn't exist. And I lived in the period where it started, and was even apart of the discussions when it emerged. It never really was "APART" of internet chess until everyone started accommodating the masses. I do believe there are people out there that prefer non-premove people. I am one of them, but I actually prefer long time control even though my recent history doesn't show this. I think having the "option" to opt-out of a feature is good. And to filter out to people that prefer it is also good. The only major down side is that could take your user experience from 12k to 500-1k in a single key stroke. That could effect the speed at which you get games. I like the option to be able to switch on and off. It could be of use.. And the ability to switch it on if my fellow anti-premove people are not online at the same time, could be of use as well.
@Trip5s I didn't say it was good or bad, I was just wondering why it would be desirable. I don't understand why people wouldn't want to play against premoves so I'm just trying to gain perspective.

@MeWantCookieMobile You raise very good points that one cannot simply disagree with ;D
@ChesswurmOTB

Here is my distaste for it. And it might not be shared by others. I have seen premove in standard and classical time controls. And when it happens multiple times where you can trap that player just by the premove, I think it shows a level of disrespect to someone who tries to take chess somewhat seriously. Mostly because every game played on here, for me at least, is an attempt to gain a position worthy of analysis. Even in bullet this is true. I rarely play moves that are premove in bullet and I try to make the most of my moves no matter what control it is. This is in effort for training myself to reach the next level. This disrespect in my opinion is similar to people who play beginner moves. But I am attempting to make this issue non-existent as I am thinking that sometimes beginner moves are not always the fault of the person, but the fact that person really is a beginner. My issue lies in the fact that you see it often. And you see this in games of people who have respectable ratings in OTB chess. An example would be a 1500-1600 level player USCF and FIDE are not really the same a lot of the times to people online with the similar rating. So sometimes seeing such moves in those players will spark a distasteful fire in the pit of my belly and makes me a little irritated during game play. I am making attempts to cure myself of this. Maybe it will happen.. But my problem with premove I feel is valid and while I have to live with it, I don't have to like it.

Hope this helps in your adventure to understand the issue.
I think that setting already exist in preferences. What you want, I guess, is a way to know the opponent play with no pre-move actived. That would be a code change on seeking system! (for example like the mark color showing the guy want play with white just or black ou random).

maybe that change is big and people which use that change would be small...
@ChesswurmOTB asked too many times does not mean it is popular. It just there very small part of population who dont want it and every now and then some asks for it. Not so often but too often.

Chess on internet is different and people love pre-moves so no doing a seek based on pre-moves is not needed and furthermore even might end up playing very rarely. I rarely use pre-move. But when it obvious that if opponent hits on there i'll take back with pawn why not.
