There is another chess site on the internet. It is described as "an Internet chess community with over 224,000 members.[1] The site maintains a large database of chess games, where each game has its own discussion page for comments and analysis".
I don't know if you use that site, but for me it has been totally unavailable for two weeks.
Does anyone know why the site is down? Bankrupt? DOS? Or is it just me? Perhaps I have been banned!
You can mention a name, you know. Well, unless it's a link to a copyright infringing material.
I'm assuming you are referring to chess-db.com. No idea tbh, but it's been down for quite some time.
Some chess forums ban you for mentioning another chess forum.
I was in fact talking about
http://www.chessgames.com/ .
That site won't work on any of my devices, even my Zoon.
Thanks Odoaker. I have a feeling that a recent Windows 10 upgrade is responsible;
cg.com is not always a "trusted site".
At least now I know that it's ME!
Some sites ban you for just about anything.
If you ever need to find out if a website is down only for you or for everybody else as well, this is a useful link to remember:
http://www.websitedown.info/chessgames.com is currently down for everybody:
http://www.websitedown.info/chessgames.comI sure hope they will come back!
Edit: Now it says
chessgames.com is up, but the site still is not reachable for me... strange...
Edit 2:
chessgame.com is back up indeed! :-)
Yeah I don't know why everyone is afraid to mention [censored by mods].
That's very useful; many thanks Sefegiru.
