Like this one? lichess.org/6lSg8r36f2kY I had quite a few players resign in positions hat were almost equal...why do you think they do that?
Do you have more examples? How often does it happen?
A sample of 1 is too few. This example may be a fluke (maybe they needed to leave or something?) while for others there might be a different explanation.

Because they have to go; I've had to resign because of this
Because their child slips and cuts their lip, for example?
Sorry soni777new,1 minute ago... you beat me to it.

Maybe the person playing black just unexpedtedly needed to do to something else and decided it's better to quit the game than to let run down the clock.
IF I HAVE AN EXAMPLE
THE BLACKS PLAYED VERY EVIL
NOTOPTIMAL HAS REASON
I HAVE CANCELED ITEMS BECAUSE I HAVE COMMITMENTS
Sometimes I do it when my assessment of the game leaves me to believe that I cannot win and don't want to waste the opponent's time. Sometimes, I do it because I have to go though.
