Community rating?

Hello,

this is just a random idea potentially to promote good and friendly behavior between lichess community.

The idea would be to add a "community rating" to the profile. Then, everyone could rate you (from 1 to 5 stars) given your behavior online (based on rudeness on chat, fair play, abusive disconnections, etc).

I suppose this will encourage people to be nicer online.

Let me know what you think about this idea.

Cheers,
Samy.

Some people would give you 0 because you win or they think you use engines.
luciano didn't know this feature was already discussed, I will look for past posts, ty.

nailyk, yes that's indeed possible, but I suppose that will be negligible no?
We could think of solutions for this, for example:
- restrict new accounts from giving feedback;
- restrict people giving only negative feedback;
- restrict people with too low feedback (lower than 2) from giving feedback (this is the most efficient approach imho);
- restrict feedback when you lose;
- allow feedback only after playing 3 games with the same opponent.

What do you think about these solutions?

Hi Samy.

You already can write a note about a player on his profile.

But only you and your Lichess friends can see it.
Hello Salamandre,

Yes, i am already aware of that feature.

This thread is more about a new feature suggestion.
What do you think about this new feature?
@Samy129291
I won't speak for the others, but if this feature were to be implemented, I would first use it for some of the wonderful people who frequent the forum, with whom I've never played a game.

I use the follow system much like how you would suggest this system be used, and I've had very few ugly experiences when playing on this site.

I don't dislike the idea, but I wonder if those who would code and implement it don't have more important things to do?

^my 2 cents
@TatsumakiRonyk

Thanks for the answer. This is just an idea which could be put on the bottom of the list of the features "to be implemented", whenever devs have time for it.

But before that, it is nice to have your opinions about it ;)

Not a bad idea @Samy129291 but I'm not very convinced.

It's not a social network.

But I agree that people here should be nicer :)
