Help with PvE in Minecraft

@Legobuilder101 All it required was a bit of practice and I figured out how to use the sweep attack correctly. And yeah, I'm much better at PvE now. Also since you all are arguing:

-Thorns III is pretty good with mending. Even soul speed (which uses durability on soul sand) is fine with unbreaking 3 and mending boots.
-Bane of Arthropods sucks unless you have a spider farm.
-Smite sucks unless you are fighting only undead mobs.
-Sweeping edge is useful, but not required.
-Unbreaking II on a sword with mending is good enough. There is no real need for Unbreaking III on a mending sword.
-Cave spiders are an absolute pain and you are guaranteed to get hit by one if you are fighting them. Spiders are a bit easier to deal with (especially because no poison).
how to be better at PVE in minecraft:
1.QUIT MINECRAFT
2.DON'T PLAY MINECRAFT
XD
@Legobuilder101 you need to be able to repair your armor regardless, so you will need a xp farm and the enchantments "Unbreaking III" and "Mending" aswell if you want to repair your diamond armour. In case you just use iron armour you can repair it with an anvil easily having an iron golem farm. It can be really nice to have thorns amour considering all the phantoms they implemented, because they die after attacking you a few times. Also it is just funny that someone gets damage attacking you. If you want to cheat you can enchant thorns 100 and they'll die instantly touching you (this is even more fun but it isn't vanilla anymore).
@OnlyBetterNoBlitz Ok
1) You can mine nether quartz in the nether to get tons of XP.
2) Killing 1 normal hostile mob (zombie, skeleton, wither skeleton, enderman, creeper, spider, cave spider) gets you 10 durability back so it's nornally profitable to hunt hostile mobs "normally" at night.
3) You can just stare at an enderman's eyes, aggro it, and go under a 2 block tall area. If you surround the area's perimeter with a block and a trapdoor, the endermen can't hit you. This is a decently effective way to farm endermen in the end (but not as effective as nametagged endermites, but it is a start).
4) Iron armor can't be upgraded to netherite, leaving it at a significant disadvantage.
@SavageAntarctican

Look. I was playing mc for ten years. I don't need stuff like netherite, I can defend myself with a cactus if I have to. Monsters really aren't very strong, they were even less a year ago. You can play however you want, it is just a tip from a veteran. Using Nether Quartz isn't the way to gain XP but you can do it if you want to. The idea with the enderman farm is better and also used on servers. The idea of killing mobs at night is profitable yes, but if I want to focus on building I don't care about that. You seem to know a lot of the new game mechanics and are completely right but they constantly change whereas the old gaming ideas still work, don't change and are very comfortable. If you want any further advise you can message me. If not, I hope I could still help you somehow :) Have fun playing the game :)
@OnlyBetterNoBlitz So you are able to defend yourself with cactuses? So you can use @SavageCactus to defend yourself?

Just kidding

Also cave spiders are an absolute pain to deal with for me. Also how do I make my bow shots in correctly? How do I deflect ghast fireballs? (I've tried over 50 times, but have only successfully done it once).
@SavageAntarctican xD

Cave Spiders are an absolute pain for everyone because they poison you and poison is the greatest weapon in this game as it reduces your health to the min. You need to avoid getting bitten, it is up to you how you do that. Most important is that you destroy the spawner fast and place torches. If you are scared you can dig or build your way to the spawner. Or you mine the cobweb using a sword.

What do you mean with bow shots? You need to aim? xD

You deflect fireballs with your sword hitting it at the right moment just a moment before they hit you. You need to find the right angle so it deflects towards where the ghast is now. As this isn't very easy and only needs to be done once for the achievement "return to sender" I recommend using an enchanted bow aiming at above the center of the ghast.
