Isolated Pawn gone wrong

Isolated Pawn positions are tricky, usually, lower-rated players avoid taking on such potential weakness in their structure that could be crucial in an endgame. Contrary strong masters know since the days of Tarrasch that Before the endgame, the Gods have placed the middle game. These positions also have advantages compensating for the weak pawn such as active piece play and attacking chances: here is an example of basically everything that can go wrong when you have the isolated pawn:
Isolated pawn positions demand precision and no exchanges of pieces and can be quite good however in this game black played like he was on my team :)

Some book reviewer summed it up: if white has the isolated pawn, then it is strong, if black has the isolated pawn, then it is weak.
There might be some truth to Adrian Mikhalchisjin's statement a tempo means a lot if you play for the attack.
