Where do you start if you want to learn how to code?
Which language do you want to learn?
Scala looks cool. Is it something you have to go to university to learn?
There is a lot of stuff online, but you'll need to be more specific than "how to code" - what language are you going to start with? There will probably be resources on that. For example, for JavaScript there is/was (haven't checked in ages) a site where you would learn stuff and then test your knowledge by coding specific things in a "console" on the webpage. Then it would tell you what errors you make, if any, and why that is wrong. Other languages? Not sure.....
EDIT: The website is called CodeSchool - here's the JavaScript one I mentioned http://javascript-roadtrip.codeschool.com/levels/1
They have a course in Git as well, which seems to be what Lichess uses. Might be wrong though

I can't code in scala so sorry I don't know to start :(
I know the basics of HTML, CSS, Javascript and some C/C++

I would just start with the very simple things and then do harder things :[]
I can't really be too specific as I don't know much about it. Can you become as good as the guys that make this site by yourself or do you have to get a degree first?
Thanks Mcoombes :)

Javascript has a terminal (just in the browser) where you can see errors. Very annoying :)

I started with the web languages, HTML, CSS and Javascript and then Python. But one can also start with the Python.
