I have noticed that titled players on this site almost always play quick games with less time than 3 minutes. Do they just play for fun, because ive been told you cant really improve by playing blitz games.
They've played thousands of hours of classical chess. Once you get to a certain point, I think blitz starts to be the more efficient way to learn.

Blitz is also more efficient for getting experience of openings and how the positions feel compared to slow play games.

@bunny_GM. Slow games are better for less experienced players like us (sub 2000) blitz games seem to be more effecient for opening study, and getting a feel for the positions from those openings. Slow games are great to look for tactics,come up with plans, and great for endgame training etc.
Maybe they don't want to play long games online with so many leavers around.
