Actually, I was modifying a common vernacular phrase. For example, "Consider this your final warning".
If I were going for grammatical correctness, I likely would have used the infinitive "to be" as the conjunction between subject and predicate-- IMHO, "as" would only be appropriate were the sentence in question idiomatic in nature.
