Why Lichess is Free and Chess.com is Paid?

I googled it and it only means related to horses. I thought it was more dismissive. or close to H.S. But I was wrong.
Unknown. I guess if i really want to use it, and signify a positive connotation I also have to use another positive one.

but also it proves how lichess is better because people love it so much they want it to continue so they donate money whereas chess.com needs to charge to earn money.
