I have the book with the lion on it (it got lost somewhere but I have it I just forgot the title) and it's about the Philidor and how to use it as an aggressive attack. I checked the philidor and white gets a good position if not played correctly. Is the philidor worth studying or is it an opening that has little value?
I like the endgame you get in the philidor.
There are countless things named after philidor in chess ....
Which one are you talking about ?

@Break_ToS The philidor defense
It is solid but passive
I believe that the philidor / lion is fully playable, and if Carlsen and Caruana play it, it’s a serious defense. I prefer other choices like the French and Sicilian, but that’s a personal preference.
If you want to study the opening because you think it'd fit your playing style, do it. If not then dont do it
"it's about the Philidor and how to use it as an aggressive attack"
That must be some book. (And incidentally, White gets a good position if Black doesn't play correctly, regardless of the opening.)

Since you got the book, study and play it online. Download C42 games from pgn mentor for games to review.
It's a good opening, so if you're interested it would be worth studying
