What do you guys think about the Chigorin defense? Sharp, weak, average? Should I play it as black?
It is better than its reputation. It has seen play in top correspondence chess. Also over the board:
I'm a low ranked player, but it always seems right to me to refuse the gambit, I seem to be more effective.

I don't play it , but I would think maintaining the control of the e5

@the_loving_boy While I don't play the Chigorin, it seems to me like black is fighting to control e5 and maybe play e7-e5. And it also is attacking d4, so if white plays cxd5, black recaptures with the queen, and threatens to take the pawn
