Aha, in that case we were talking past each other. I only ever start new games when it's NOT my move in the first one (namely when the opponent is stalling), so that fits what you said in your last post.

So when I am in a lost position, I can make my move, then start a second game and let the first game time out...
This seems wrong. As long as a game is in course it should be impossible to start a fresh game, regardless of whose turn it is.
Also what happens if the second game is in course and the opponent of the first game plays his move? Is the creator of the two games then playing both simultaneously?
What is the problem with it ?
If s/o is not interested to continue the game with you, why would you like to know if he is playing against s/o else or not ?
That someone should resign the ongoing game before he is allowed to start a new one with somebody else.
