The comment was that lichess should be 100% focused on chess. My comment was merely to show that lichess does not have that focus as variants are not within that scope (ie, useless to that vision).

Just an idea. May sound crazy.
Turn of the computer, put some clothes on, leave your house and go outside. There is huge community there.
They call themselves 'human beings'.

I think both communities can coexist just as well.
Internet is made to make people's life easier. You don't turn off computer, dress up, go to bank and wait in line to pay your bills. You just turn on computer and pay without any lines.
That's the same for chess, it makes a lot easier to play it online. Having an online community is just another benefit of Internet.
