Why is Shazam not working on shows soundtrack?

When I watch a show, I sometimes want to know what song is played in the soundtrack. I tried to used Shazam (I know, I know, I could just look in the credits) but I have noticed that it systematically return no results, even when the music is loud and clear and there is no other noise from the show.

I was wondering why. Does Shazam recognise that it's from a show and are there copyrights issues related to it? So far that's the only hypothesis I could think of.
shazam just doesn't have a database of every single song ever made
Sorry that this is unrelated to your question, but have you tried the song search feature using Google Assistant? I've found that it works much better than Shazam.

Sure but I am not talking about just one or two tries. I have used Shazam enough to confidently say that it doesn't work with shows soundtracks, while it works well enough in other settings. Also I am not searching for very obscure songs. Actually, I even noticed the following : usually when it isn't able to identify a song, it first tries for a really long rime before saying it can't find it. When I launch it on a show soundtrack, I almost immediately have a negative answer. And again, it's systematic.
You posted one time the exact message "Pxj" did, word for word, and deleted it shortly after. 20 seconds later, he posted it. He is chat-banned as I am assuming you are.

Is BeaverB1 blah blah blah you as well?
@LegendaryQueen please don't derail my thread with your childish ad hominem attacks. If you have something to say, tell it to the mods or keep it for yourself.
