I think the real answer is that not everything revolves around who is president of the US - sure some leaders may be more favorable than others, but the final decision whether Hamas invades Israel - and Israel retaliates, Russia intensifies an invasion that began in 2014 (not 2022).. does not necessarily revolve around US politics.

I don't see an alignment in the dates, nor does this really make any sense - unless its specifically to do with availability of wagner mercenaries for an offensive?

You're very sensitive to sarcasm, are you not?

when does sarcasm work in the context of trump, putin, etc? Often the truth is weirder than fiction hahah

Fine. Then I will tell you the whole truth. My DoD friend is actually Q, not R. And I won't say more in order to preserve his anonymity.

@awkward-aardvark , I notice that you STILL haven't provided the quotation that I didn't think anybody would be able to provide. (Because I believe Trump DID NOT make the alleged "pledge" to anybody).
So, moving on, please stop and notice: Russia DID NOT invade Ukraine until well AFTER Trump had left office.
I'm not guessing. CHECK THE DATES. When Russia invaded Ukraine Trump WAS NOT PRESIDENT.
So when you write "And why do you [apparently meaning Noflaps] keep insisting Putin actually WAITED Trump stepped down?" you simply puzzle me.
I'm insisting that Russia "actually" didn't invade until well after Trump stepped down because THAT'S THE FACT. Why shouldn't I "insist" on acknowledging THAT FACT?
It was MORE THAN ONE YEAR after Trump left office that Russia invaded Ukraine. Don't believe me. Feel free to check.
So, if Putin thought it was Trump that would be more helpful, WHY DIDN'T RUSSIA INVADE WHEN TRUMP WAS STILL PRESIDENT?
Explanations don't seem to be forthcoming.
By the way, I appreciate that @salmon_rushdie appears to be trying to remain objective in #32. Thank you, salmon_rushdie.

I think we're at the point where discussion of US presidential candidates is no longer discussion of US presidential candidates.
Indeed, @clousems. Real "discussions" require pertinent responses.
Now what we see, all too often, are claims, followed by an attempt to examine those claims objectively and in greater detail, and then subject changes.
Or so it seems to me. Others may, of course, disagree.

is Trump the first ever presidential candidate to survive two attempts to assassinate him?

Nope! Gerald Ford survived two attempts in September of 1975 alone.
