Talking down to the average voter might feel satisfying. But it's not effective. And it's not likely to be accurate. The average person is not so foolish or venal as some might think.

Rather than condemn others, it's usually better to listen to them and try to understand them.

Parents who struggle to buy groceries aren't "selling out" by worrying about that and hoping to make things better. They're just trying to get by and honor their responsibilities.

Learning from mistakes is a great way to learn. But we can't take such learning for granted, based on what some in the media have said in the last day or so.
