Sex and love

Imo sex is fleeting, love is eternal
Any opinions?
They're both choices we make, and by definition one is a short term act, and one is a long term act. So yeah, I'd have to agree.

@Sarg0n while it is a biochemical evolutionary mechanism, you can't deny its taken humanity to its current level. What level would all our technological achievements have reached without extending this biochemical response to our crafts?

Love, on very rare occasion, lasts a life time. Hardly the norm though. I'd say love has a half-life of about 8 years.

I don't want to come off as cynical because I'm realistic so I'll mention my neighbours here. They're 92 and 87 years old and I sometimes see them gazing at each other when the other person isn't looking. They still hold hands while talking walks and still make each other laugh. It makes me happy every time I see them together. Very much the happily ever after people dream about. I wish that were most relationships but it's not.
