Israil VS Palastain

#30
"I want those countries to accept refugees" * There are already many Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan.
"who do want to leave" * That is the point: the Gazans and the Palestinians on the West Bank and in East Jeruzalem do not want to be displaced from the place where they and their ancestors have lived for thousands of years. You cannot legally evict a people against their will.
You cannot say to Jordan: Jordan you lost the Westbank in the war in 1967, and now you must take all inhabitants of the Westbank as well.
You cannot tell the 2 million Gazans to leave Gaza and go live in the Sinai desert. You likewise cannot force Egypt to accept two million Gazans in the Sinai.

I specifically said those who >>>wanted<<< to leave, and I bet there are a lot of them. I never said force. Also, are they really still refugees in any of those countries? Most have been there for 30-60+ years.

You presume to speak for all of them, but not everyone wants to die for some ideal of homeland - many would rather continue their lives elsewhere, where they don't have to starve, and be bombed.

"I bet there are a lot of them"

  • No. Many even refused to leave Gaza city though threatened by the Israeli army.

So some people refused to leave, you presume to speak for them all? You are saying, that the women who are watching their children starve to death wouldn't take a chance to leave so their kid may have a chance to grow up?

Also that is a different situation - that is just going to another part of Gaza where people are more concentrated and controlled.

polls heavily contradict what you say: https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/almost-half-gazans-willing-leave-survey-finds-2025-05-06/

"You are saying, that the women who are watching their children starve to death wouldn't take a chance to leave so their kid may have a chance to grow up?"
Who’s starving people by cutting off aid? Hmm... I guess it’s not about wanting to leave, then — something is forcing them to.

#34 So 43% to 49% wanted to leave during the genocide.
Did they want to leave forever, or did they want to leave during the genocide to come back later?

Yes like I said, obviously the better option would be for aid to be allowed, the war ended - Israel relent, etc..

but pragmatism dictates you take a second option, especially when lives are at stake - instead of letting people die and not lifting a finger. You don't save people from a fire by simply putting out the fire - you have to actually remove people from harms way.

Doesn't really matter, it should be whatever they choose.

"it should be whatever they choose"

  • Exactly. It is not for Israel to tell where the Palestinians should live.

"how to carry this out"
Ehud Olmert had a clear plan. Jeruzalem would get an international status as it is the cradle of 3 religions.
There woud be a highway between Gaza and the rest of Palestine.
