I would give it back, especially considering that he is homeless. But even if he is rich, the right thing to do is to give the money back. It isn't yours and it amounts to stealing.
However, if I was doing reasonably decent, and a homeless guy told me, "Hey, here are your 50 that you dropped", I would say, "keep it, thanks", or, at the very least, I'd give him a bit of the money, again depending on how I was doing. But I don't think I would be forced to do it, after all it's my money, however I still think it's a cool thing to do, out of the kindness of your heart, and as a sort of "token" for him having been a nice person!
