Well, if everything has a cause then what caused this recent cause? And what caused the cause that caused our recent cause? We go perpetually down, and never reach the bottom. Unless we suppose that their is some first cause that caused all causes, or some other theory to explain all this then not everything could have had a cause.

I'm guessing your timeline has a start then? And this start is in reference to some first cause? Does this cause have a cause, or no cause? If not, then not everything has a cause. Only those after the first cause have a cause.
