Creation vs. Atheism

@BlackBishop9319:
> I came up with the idea that maybe god can create a rock too heavy for him to
> lift, AND he can lift it. But we just can't understand how that works.

I can pretty much explain everything in the universe if my presumptions are allowed to be true and not true at the same time and neither the audience nor myself do have to understand how anything works.

If you use this deranged kind of logic i wonder what makes even your usual "something came out of nothing" (as nonsensical as it is) less believable than this. You are holding your own belief to a pretty low logical standard and require a much higher one from everybody else, aren't you?

@krasnaya Spot on. That's pretty much how the illogics of all religions work.

Because religion is not based on a sincere seek for truth that would demand intellectual honesty, but a sub-conscious or conscious need for psychological security.
When you prefer security over honesty, you get double standards, illogics, self-deception.
@laatikko
In terms of @krasnaya ...that guy is just about as much an idiot as @BeliefOnTheLordJesus

Nevertheless, you are absolutely correct in your assumptions regarding religion....or at least how religion is all too frivolously portrayed!

I teach a class called "Christianity for Atheists!" Basically the class looks at the world from the intelligent and rational atheist perspective and seeks to the truth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ without all of the nonsensical and morally corrupt psychological disfigurements of mainstream religion. For example, is there really a heaven or a hell, or are people in general just too cowardly to come to terms with their own mortality and hence seek some kind of belief in an eternal life in order to escape the fact that they are eventually going to die?

I find that there are certain religions that are "real" while others are "fake." For example, the Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Wesleyans, Presbyterians, etc are real, while religions like the Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, and Jehovah's Witnesses are merely OBVIOUSLY false!! Once we've determined the fraud religions from the REAL religions, we then look at what common denominators exist within all of the REAL religions. Once we grasp that a love being defined as "to lay down one's life for one's friends" is the gold standard of love that unites all REAL religions, then we move from there to a prayer and meditative life that transcends the mere flesh of the world we live to the higher being of the 'Christian.'

@TheLordOfLight Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

God bless, sorry you feel the need to call me an idiot
@Kaynight1
Again...perhaps it is the case that not everyone has the ability to understand matters of faith. Perhaps not everyone is born with a 'soul' ..... even one of Noah's son's, Ham, was declared a natural slave after certain actions. Perhaps, you @Kaynight1 are more of a natural slave race than that of "real human beings" who understand that this world has a grand architect. In any case, it is not my responsibility to convince slaves, whores, and pirates of things that have nothing to do with them just like it is not the task of colleges to teach advanced physics to rodents and hyenas.

@BeliefOnTheLordJesus
Idiot refers to ignorance. I think you are ignorant of the great task and responsibility that the Catholic Church legitimately bears. The Pope may be saying blasphemous things.....I don't know....I don't pay attention to what he states on a daily basis just like I don't pay attention to what our great president Trump tweets on a daily basis. What I do know is that the pope, as far as I'm concerned, speaks for the greater good of Christianity as a whole as it relates to the worldliness of the world itself. That is a difficult job! As long as he's not turning the Vatican into a glorified whorehouse like what was going on in Luther's day then I'll give the pope a C- and go about my own theological business which involves mostly protestant Churches in my case because that's where I believe a more pure understanding of Christ resides. I suggest you do the same @BeliefOnTheLordJesus

Let me answer with a quote:

> The task of the class-conscious leaders of the revolutionary class is always to
> march ahead of it in the matter of education, to explain to it the meaning of the
> new tasks, and to urge it forward towards our great ultimate goal.
