Well Christians wanted to keep Islam out of Europe and the Moslems wanted to kill?everyone who wasnt a moslem. So, while Christians succeeded for a while. Both failed.

Start with a study of "Intelligent Design." One can find good information at the web page of the "Discovery Institute."
nothing can "design" the breathtaking phenomenon of life on a planet, amidst the dark & cold & airless cosmos, more "intelligently" than the evolution of life

you don't want to deny God having made this possible

I must clear what "Jihad" means.
Jihad جهاد means struggle, fight, struggle [in life to dismiss the pleasures of this life and to win higher rewards in the آخرة].
It's not just fighting against an oppressor, or conquering a land, it's stuff like stopping smoking, avoiding sinning, etc.

The more accurate thing is "Muslim futuhats فتوحات" or "Muslim conquests".

I'm aware- I was just going contextually

Crusade is actually almost an exact synonym of jihad
1. ? ? ?

2. "crusade" = not smoke, not sin?

3. "almost exact" is wrong in itself.

4. whatfor copy a whole text from right above?!

5. makes it all in all = minus 4 out of 4. that in turn equals ...

Yeah I don't get it either, "Crusade" from the dictionary is "each of a series of medieval military expeditions made by Europeans to the Holy Land in the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries".
I don't see how this goes inside forbidding evil, or how it's similar to jihad.
