back in the day everything was better

you cant tell me othervise. all old people would know this truth. just look at construction: granite boxes in the mazez of Giza couldnt get reproduced today even with unlimited budget and so on...there is 1 truth: nothing ever gets better. not since the Creator left this realm. we dont know where he is and if he is alive. we are so doomed.

I think that there is the illusion of change (which people either like or dislike) but in reality very little is actually changing.

Just off the top of my head:
When I was a kid, there was no internet, no personal computers, and no cell phones. Car seat belts didn't exist. (Some cars had suicide doors - I know, because I fell out of one at highway speeds.)

Doctors promoted certain brands of cigarettes, because everyone thought smoking was fine.

We drank from garden hoses on hot days, and loved it!

Thank goodness that we kids never had any of those metal-tipped lawn darts; We probably would have killed one of us.

I blistered countless times from playing outside all day long. My dermatologist is now benefiting from my youthful ignorance.

Nah, aint that easy. It all depends on the economy. Back then in certain areas of the world, if was really really bad, they got better, whereas others got worse. World aint that 1-Dimensional. There are always many parameters to consider.

"Back in the day" people weren't thrilled to be outraged.

Kids worked after school and dreamed of the wonderful future ahead.

And on weekends, they could bicycle or hike for miles without their parents worrying that they'd be murdered.

World War II had been won.

Everybody respected the British and the Americans, and rightly so.

James Bond was in his Aston Martin.

And Miss Moneypenny didn't find his masculinity "toxic," even though he was literally lethal.

Better still: Bobby Fischer still got along with everybody. He was a nice young man.
