3 Ways to tell if a show/movie/book franchise has run out of ideas

In no particular order:

1) They resort to time-travel.

2) They resort to cloning.

3) They resort to aliens.

It could also be a combination of the 3.

Do you have some ways to tell if a show/movie/book franchise has run out of ideas?

If so, I would love to know them :)

Time Travel I don't agree....Maybe a bit but it makes the movie more interesting...
Another one : Repetetive dialgoues, ideas etc. Similar characters/cloning.
Almost an improper question. You should ask how creative is the author and how well can the viewer suspend their disbelief? Fiction borrows the same elements from each other. Though if you develop it well then it should sell. Are the people in character? Is it the right atmosphere? Is it logical and understandable enough to comprehend?

J.K. Rowling isn't the greatest author who ever lived. You can disagree with me though her writing is understandable. This can be true of any author. It has to be presentable enough to observe and study. The best way to get awesome at anything is through trial and error unless you're lucky enough to have a life like Mary Poppins.

I did address this awhile ago though I can do it again.
It gets repetitive because it is a marketable product

I think when backing down to alternative Universes where there's more stuff is also a sign for it!
Because you clearly can't do anything more with your origional universe

Or they even close it lol and handle you the book to edit!
With those three points, you are claiming that the following were unnecessary filler:
Alien
Aliens
Terminator
Terminator 2
Predator
Back to the Future
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Star Wars

Do you hate the 80s?
