LM is stronger than CM, WFM and many NM.
In the past the tournament was attended by players with ratings of less than 2000, but with the titles of CM and NM. WFM, for example, is clearly weaker than LM, but can play in the Titled Arena. Why?
It is unfair that a LM, has earned universal respect for his game can't play in the Titled Arena.
I am sure that many would like to see a battle of the best LM with Magnus Carlsen and other top GM.
Well, it's a made up title, also a closed one, nobody can get it anymore. It would be hugely unfair to other players at the same playing strength as LM:s but no LM title (which you can no longer get) to grant LM:s access to a titled arena.
LM title should be removed or re-opened.
When a LM is clearly stronger than a CM, FM or WFM, then why is he/she not (also) an CM, FM or WFM?

LM requirements changed over time and the title was never intended to be a gatekeeper. Accepting LMs struck us as unfair to players who joined after LM became difficult to get or to players who were around but didn’t bother to apply.
FIDE title qualifications aren’t always consistent (such as titles awarded for winning tournaments) but on the whole I have far more faith in FIDE titles than in LM.
On top of that, most OTB titled players have careers in chess that would be affected by a cheating mark, reducing the incentive to cheat.

@isaacly And if a player lives in the area, where the FIDE tournaments are not held? Not everyone needs a FIDE rating. Besides, if some good players prefer anonymity, why not respect their wishes?
Why not give a WildCard to the winners of the Marathon, annual tournaments and shields?
Who plays stronger: LM Lance5500 or FM Simba7? LM galbijjim or FM Sandstad? LM ShahMatKanal or CM Varinius? The answer is obvious. The answer is obvious. The tournament was much stronger, more interesting and more entertaining if it was played LM.
This is discrimination - you respect the anonymity of GM, but I do not respect the anonymity of the LM. Who is bombergranate? We don't know. But we know that LM many years brought joy to his game, and want to see them battle with the GM.
It's not really discrimination as LM isn't a real title. Do you not think the players who have earned their place in the titled arena OTB would have something to say about LMs participating?

In what way is it not being respected? Anyone can register an account here for free without revealing their identity, not sure why you think otherwise.
That doesn't mean everyone is entitled to play in any tournament they wish. This tournament has the precondition that players need to have revealed their identity (in order to prove their title). If players wish to remain anonymous, there is nobody forcing them to enter the tournament.
