Why did he win and not a draw?

Hello, I played a game and I was a pawn and a king vs knight and a king, I ran out of time, how is that not a draw? He can't checkmate me with knight and king. it should be drawn because of insufficient material.

Even though it is a drawing position, the computer technically wins since you ran out of time.
It shouldn't be like that, I'm pretty sure this would officially be drawn because of incufficient material.
why don't you look up fide rules before making this topic?
Because I remember the fide rules stating that it would be a draw. How about you consider checking up on that first before telling me to do it?
The FIDE Laws of Chess says in article 9.6:
"The game is drawn when a position is reached from which a checkmate cannot occur by any possible series of legal moves, even with the most unskilled play. This immediately ends the game."
It's not technically drawn. You can't mate with a King and Knight against a bare King, but you can mate if the King is blocked in by a minor piece of his own - to which the pawn can be promoted.
