The Sharing Variant

I thought of a variant in which each player shares a certain amount of time, and they give their time to the other player when they use it.

For example, each player has 15 seconds. Let's say white uses 5 seconds.

Then white has 10 seconds, and the 5 seconds go to black, so black has 20 seconds now.

Increment and Berserking works like normal.

That is hourglass. Lichess should really add it as alternative.

I'd really love to see different time controls become available. I'd rather play with delay rather than increment, personally. I'm not sure how feasible it would be to add in the functionality, and it's also a question of how popular it would be.

I think hourglass would make people move their pieces faster. I wonder if people think this is useless or interesting. Also, how do you edit a title or comment?

Moving slowly gives your opponent more time and vice versa. Time that can be spent on critical positions.
