It's great that the World Champion Magnus Carlsen takes out the time to play the Lichess Titled Arena, but unfortunately, this event sometimes happens when Carlsen is playing a tournament. Everyone wants to see him play in the Titled Arena, but given the tournament situation in the last tournament, the TATA Steel Tournament, he decided to not play, because he was not the best player in the tournament (...).
This may always (if rarely) occur, and it's probably best to preclude such occurances by straight-out avoiding any date that might misfit Carlsen's timetable.
You make it sound as if Carlsen is our lord, our savior and the only one we follow?
What about alireza? penguin? There are so many other interesting players; the titled arena isn't just about one person.
Carlsen 不是我们的神, but based on the chat I do believe that he's by far the most famous and the most popular. Also, the playing strengths of the players you named are inferior to his by far.
Thanks, we'll take the idea under consideration (if we haven't already).
Woah,
@Toadofsky I didn't realize you were a lichess mod
^ Bruh...
@androidmarvin Alizera is pretty great ngl, I wouldn't call him inferior to Carlsen by far.
Ha, I'm Lichess staff, but moderator is the one thing I am not. :-)
Alireza Firouzja is a very good player as well, but his rating does not compare very well to Carlsen's. Given his young age, Firouzja may be able to at least partially overcome that.
@TCF_Namelecc I would be surprised to find out, that liches doesn't already schedule tournaments in a way do they don't overlap with any any big tournaments
