Random Bug

In the game below I attempted to continue play with 19...Nxg6. This particular game I played using the Lichess app on my phone. When I played the move 19...Nxg6, my Knight moved, but my time was still ticking down. According to my opponent, they couldn't see the move (and it wasn't recorded after I resigned). I use the app almost daily, and this is my first time encountering this bug.



It hadn't occurred to me to post about it until now - the game in question was a couple days ago, and I haven't had any problems since.

@TatsumakiRonyk Your Internet was probably lagging, so your move didn't reach the server and as a consequence it wasn't recorded

At first I thought that might've been the case... but my opponent and I were able to carry a conversation in chat - could lag still be the culprit? Thank you for your input.

(Also thank you for that link. I learned something today! I had no idea Lichess was based out of France. Way cool!)

The only possible reason for the problem you had is Internet lag. Maybe the lnternet lag was affecting more your game than the chat (probably because your Internet wasn't lagging a lot in that moment but was still lagging) - for the moves to be processed by the Lichess server you need a higher Internet strenght than for chatting with your opponent.
