Puzzles: [Feature Request] Alternate Move

<Comment deleted by user>
There is a feature where if you play a good move a message will come up
Good move, but you can do better.
You don't lose any rating points for that.

#3 That feature is implemented in Practice. OP's talking about Puzzles/Training. Two different things. Also I agree with them.
I was about to post a separate thread on this very issue. I totally agree this needs to be implemented on the Lichess puzzle section. Because it's very possible you can make the wrong move not because it's wrong but because your idea which solves the puzzle isn't allowed in that scenario! That's what I'm finding out while solving these puzzles. Lichess won't give you points for finding alternate solutions to the puzzles they present even though they're equally valid or maybe even improves on the solutions offered.
#1 I've tried pitching this idea several times to fellow developers, and each time been reminded that implementing this would increase code complexity. I guess it's a good idea but a low priority at this time.
Well, in that case the developers shouldn’t have a problem offering a compromise solution...and that is to allow people to solve the puzzles without being docked or adding rating points. Like allow us the ability to solve the puzzles in non ratings mode.
№ 8,

This is already possible, by signing out and solving puzzles anonymously. However, there’s a serious downside, which is that without a rating the puzzles will provide a less appropriate challenge level. Some will be way too easy, others way too hard, and they’ll come at you in no particular order — yielding a wildly inconsistent experience.

But who cares about puzzle rating, anyway? Solving a puzzle isn’t the same thing as winning a whole game; it doesn’t involve any other people; and it’s untimed (you can take all day if you need to), so it doesn’t reflect your actual skill level at any particular time control. It doesn’t even track your progress, as such: it will go way down if you do puzzles quickly, and way up if you do them slowly. Either way, as long as you’re consistent in how long you take, your overall experience should be fairly consistent — and that’s the whole purpose of that number.

You will notice people’s puzzle ratings are frequently either much higher or much lower than any of their other ratings; this is why. That number is meaningless without context, and there are no bragging rights to be associated with it. You can safely ignore it.
