Nope. The King never goes through check. D8 and c8 are not Controller by the rook andmthenking doesn't go through b8

Thanks for the response. I always thought neither King or Rook could move through a square under attack. I read the castling roles and believe your thinking is correct. Moving through a square under attack applies only to the Queen. Thanks again

There are reasons sometimes to avoid gendered language ...

You can even castle when your rook is in „check“ = attacked.
