More and more people only play white in rated games

It seems 1/3rd of the rated seeks only accept white. I know it's a small advantage, but it's still an advantage, and I think shouldn't be allowed for rated games. Imagine if someone said, I only play with a 10 second time advantage, I refuse to play half of the openings, I only play with people with worse connections--would be quite silly. IMO, equally as silly as only playing white in a rated game.

It's a bit annoying, but whatever, guess they need those precious rating points.

Things get on an entirely different scale when we are talking about variants though (and against any fair play whatsoever).
I have noticed a few players like that, but they are all weak in my opinion (and they play London system for some reason).
I agree that this shouldn't be allowed in rated games. If you want to test out some opening idea, just create a casual game and choose a color.
Why not test openings in rated play, where, perhaps, both you and your opponent will take the game more seriously?
Exactly as Oscillations said, actually this should also be allowed in 3-Check, Atomic, etc.
Get better at chess then you will smash any "trickster". They are usually all below 2000 rated, which is not thaat difixult to reach with tactic training and some lessons.
If a player only plays white then his rating will be naturally reflect his ability as white. So if you see, for example, a 1900 player playing only white, then you can expect roughly 1900 strength in that game.

Ratings are self-correcting over time. Manipulations do not have long-term value.
