People could really save themselves some public embarrassment just by opening the problem in Stockfish when they don't see why their solution fails. To get the maximum benefit from puzzles, you should always do this, after first attempting to see why it was wrong on your own. This way, you will start to recognize the motifs that you are missing most often. (You also won't make "OMG this puzzle is WRONG!!!" posts, only to have the first comment point out the refutation to your line.)

Your mistakes are more educational than your successes. Learn to embrace them the same way you do with your triumphs.

It isn't checkmate. The correct move would be Rf8, and then Kxh6, g8=Q, Rxf8+, and the last move in the puzzle is Qxf8+. You get a queen for a rook and should probably win the game.
