I do not think that bots should be allowed to play rated games

It appears to me that allowing bots to play rated games artificially changes everyone else's rating.

I also wonder what exactly the current guidelines for operating bots is. They seem very loose.

@Jacob531
It appears to me that allowing bots to play rated games actually fixes flaws inherent in a system where players choose their opponents (bots do not choose their opponents).
Allowing strong players like Magnus Carlsen to play rated games changes everyone else's rating, too.
Same with allowing complete newbies to play rated games.
And of course this is artificial. The whole rating system is artificial.

I do think, that bots should be treated as normal opponents. The sooner, the better.
currently playing against bots do not affect rating, this makes it less likely that high rated players will be interested in playing against bots - if you do not want you rating to change you can play casual against bot, but if no rating changes for human in rated then there is less incentive to play
I do think that at least Artificial Intelligence bots should be allowed to affect ratings since they bring in human like play prone to blunders
Meh. To each their own.

I dont see much of a reason for bots to be playing...any games; on a PvP chess server.
But, Im not the sharpest tool in the shed; so I'll leave those decisions to people better suited.
