Sorry if this is a repost, but is there some kind of plugin people use so that it automatically types "good game, well played" in the chat the very instant the game is over? I only ask because it seems slightly suspicious to me, but I guess it wouldn't be a difficult plugin to make...

Yeah try messing around in ur game preferences and you'll find it. It happens only if u lose or draw to someone tho.
That setting annoys me and I block people who have that enabled, it's so low effort it's ridiculous. Atleast the gg's involves the punch of a button and some human interaction.
You can set the 'good game, well played'auto-option here -- lichess.org/account/preferences/game-behavior (just scroll down a little and you'll find it.).

Well I don't gg in every game I play, only if it's a good game, and with this autostupid thing we can both play like trash and it still pops up this moronic message of how great a game we played, even though we blundered our queens, missed mate in one and both ran out of time but gg, it was an awesome game according to this stupid setting we enabled.
No I find this auto thing to be annoying to say the least.

yeah u make a fair point but the thing, is u r not obliged to gg them back, its just their choice if they wanna appreciate their opponent even if the game wasnt a great one, and its not abt how great a game u both played its just that u r acknowledging them for their game coz whatever the case, they managed to draw or beat u

Yeah, I don't like the auto-GG at all.... Before I knew it was a setting, I thought it meant they were scripting. Now that I know it is a setting, I think it is an insincere weird setting. I don't see why you need to do that. BUT if you are playing a bullet tournament or something, I guess there are some people who feel bad not saying it and just want to save 1 or 2 seconds between games....?
