Does sandbagging result in a ban?

No. But it can. First you get warnings. If you do it more though you can get banned.
@liquormark what you were thinking about is somewhat disgusting, and I think you know that yourself.

Speedrunning on alt accounts is assholerish too.
@cedur216 I do not think it is "disgusting". I thought it would be a good way to make instructional content. It would probably be more disgusting to make an alt account to do so, as then the people I am playing against would not know that I am titled. I do not care about my online ratings, so to me it was not obvious that this would not be allowed. Your comment is out of line.
For the record, I won't make an alt account either. I noticed that was not allowed when I went to do it. However, I would like to hear from someone at lichess about how to ethically do this. If bots are allowed with "BOT" next to their name, maybe we could get "SANDBAGGER" next to mine. Lol.
Speedruns are not allowed on Lichess, either on your main account or a new alt account.
Trying to make a speedrun will result in a bright red text on your profile. Please don't do it.
@liquormark then do casual games against low-rated people. Like any other players do. You don't care about your rating, but your opponents would care about theirs. Sandbagging your rating wouldn't change your playstyle anyway.
#13 Well you should know though, as when you make an account on lichess you agree to have read the terms of service and there it clearly says that sandbagging is not allowed. lichess.org/terms-of-service Fair Play and Community Guidelines point 2.
@cedur216 For content creation purposes, this is obviously not as entertaining as doing a speed-run. Still can't get over the fact that you referred to it as "disgusting". I now understand that it is against lichess rules, so I won't do it-. but its not like I would've been breaking a ten commandment LMAO @lichess hit me up if there's some way I can do this on your site!
You would like to drain rating points from people. You would like to play on par with 1700s when in fact you're a 2200. This is exactly why sandbagging is frowned upon. See why it's unethical?
