It's not really about money. The problem is that the lichess population has doubled in a very short periode of time. Nobody could plan for what is happening all over the world.
New servers are already on the way, but it takes time for them to arrive and to set them up properly. Until then we are doing everything we can to keep everything afloat. But, thank you for your very kind gesture! Donations are always welcome, but never required.
