Chatting as Anonymous

Hi,

It's been a while when this topic was discussed.
Unfortunately, I still face players who are able to chat.
They ask normal questions and I just can't answer because I need to be logged in.
(For unkown reasons they can.)

Please activate anonymous chatting for EVERYONE.
If somebody really dislikes the chat function, s/he can simply disable it.
So I believe it's absolutely unnecessary to block this function by default.

Honestly, it's CHESS, NOT CALL OF DUTY.
The chance of being insulted is almost 0, so come on,
activate it!

I totally agree. It's horrible to not be able to communicate with your opponent. In the end there is the option to disable it. I don't know. I see no logic in that decision.

Chat is deactivated client side.
Presumably they use an outdated lichess app or this.

Anon chat got abused like crazy, and by its nature was unmoderatable so it was removed.

How is denying players the ability to chat at all better than giving players the chance to disable chat if they wish? A chess site making it impossible for players to analyse together post game? Crazy

Please bring back anon chat.

+1 for opening the spam box again ! Having to register an account in order to use the site's features is WAYY too much effort to ask us anons (and also totally unheard of in our internets). C'mon, we're self-righteous over here, and that spam won't send itself !

Self righteous are the ones who want no one to have chat privileges rather than disabling chat themselves.

Yeah I agree. It's been a while since anonymous chat was disabled and many people dislike that change. Spamming in the chat there is pretty rare, and you could disable it if that happens anyway.
