Can't login from home*

I am having trouble signing in to lichess from home*. I fill in (one of) my account details but then get redirected to the main page.

*(without a proxy that is)

Well, your home IP address has about 100 accounts associated with it. It's a ban-able offence to spam lichess with that many accounts.

Out of interest, why did you make so many accounts?

I've been here for a while too, but I've only ever made 2 accounts, and closed one. Why would you need 97 accounts? What possible purpose does having 97 accounts hold? Use some common sense!

You are right of course, although I don't remember most of those accounts and closed most of them too I'd say . Some reasons I like to make new accounts are:
(1) I like making up names; palindromes, Odin's ravens, wordplay, names that say something about chess etc....
(2) I like the feeling of starting anew
(3) A personal problem of mine; I don't enjoy playing as much the moment I start getting attached to my rating. I play anon quite often, but the opposition is flaky, the accountability nil.

Ah well, I am not complaining was just curious. Thanks for the feedback/explanation.

Yeah, great word play there. Most of these accounts had less than 10 games played.
