Creating a 5+8 casual game in the iOS app never leads to a match. I've had this problem at least for a year now. Creating a shorter game, e.g., 5+0, works fine. Also, 5+8 works fine in the web app (even on mobile). Please fix.

It's going to depend on what other human players around the world are looking for. If no one wants that game type, then you're going to sit and wait.
If you want quick games, I find it's best to look at currently offered games... which of course isn't available in the mobile version (see my post lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/feature-request-see-offered-games-on-mobile).
There is a workaround for this.... log in with your mobile lichess, and also log into desktop web lichess. Find an offered game on the desktop and then go back to your mobile and go to boards in progress and then continue playing on mobile.
This doesn't work at all however if you're completely mobile and don't have access to your desktop.
