Berserk for times with increment

As far as I see, there are numerous of players, including me, who complain about the rule that "berserking" not only halves the time BUT also removes the increment. I think this heavily reduces berserks's appeal and attractiveness (for times with increment, for instance 3+2), and hence reduces berserk's application in tournaments with increment. It does not make sense in my opinion.
Other ideas could be to halve both the time and the increment, i.e. 3+2 - 1.5+1, to remove the increment, i.e. 3+2 - 3+0, or last but not least to halve the time but not the increment, i.e. 3+2 - 1.5+2.
