Add account age filter -> plague of cheating in 5+3 (10% or more often)

Hi,

Lichess cheats detection is bad and closing accounts is also bad - it is not works as should work.

On chess.com it is 4-10x times more rare and closing account also bad.

Why do not allow play fresh player only with fresh (for example before you not play 20 games and 2 weeks of playing)?

Why close cheater account forever if it do not works anywhere?
It is easier to give penalty to play 10 games without cheating with other cheater for each cheated game.
You can also mark account with number of cheats detected to allow other detect next cheat faster.

Closing account or shadown ban not works since I can create next account and next, next ... - no idea how do find that it works?

BTW why rating is not refundended after such games - cheats are not detected?
I really think that at our level, cheating is much rarer than you're saying. If you think someone is cheating use lichess.org/report.

I have heard lichess has ways to detect when cheaters make new accounts.

Disclaimer, I am not a lichess moderator and have no inside information.
On chess.com players have been removed upon completion of prize tournaments which are manually moderated, and Rensch regularly complains about how difficult his job is. Three years ago Lichess announced the release of its state-of-the-art open source detection system under an open source license:
lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/suggestion-to-improve-anticheating-operations-the-futile-mistakes

I have no idea where your numbers are coming from... on Lichess any player can conveniently register an account without a credit card and without being bombarded by ads, whereas on chess.com customers are less likely to abuse the service they are paying for. So possibly whatever numbers you have about Lichess closing accounts, or whatever you mean by "4-10x more rare" fail to account for differences between players and customers.

Your suggestion about preventing new players from using site features has already been implemented in tournaments, but to directly answer your question that's a xenophobic policy designed to cause paranoia and alienate new players which I don't think is a good idea.
What? Play games? But I need to play games first? But how?

Lichess cheat detection is 4-10x STRONGER than cheat.com's
@MrScribbles You are wrong :)

"I really think that at our level, cheating is much rarer than you're saying. If you think someone is cheating use lichess.org/report."

At level 1450-1500 cheating is very often with higher level is less cheaters f.e. 1550-1600 reduce cheaters 4 times.

"I have heard lichess has ways to detect when cheaters make new accounts."

That is urban legend - I am programmer and I do not know and see any method on lichess.org :)
I can say only that lichess.org promoting creation new account for cheaters.
That is why we have so many "users" of lichess - If I am wrong give me example how they do it :)
@Toadofsky Lichess anticheat system not works - you can download it and try to run :)
github.com/clarkerubber/irwin

My friend read that is open source and he tried to use but how to use it if there is NO MANUAL and CORE FILES IS MISSED. Nothing changed since 2019 since no commits there. Looks like not working and evolving anymore. It is cheating that is open source - it is closed source and dead project since 2019 on GitHub.

That is no matter. Lichess have closed source cheat detection which should work.

I see games and cheating patterns in many my games. Tell me why that have in many games 5+3 players with 5 minutes on clock and I have 1 min after 40 moves - and these players play like grand masters I have not idea (player with 1500 in puzzles, classic, ...).

I can train with Chess Engine that is not problem but why I have to "train with Chess Engine" on lichess.org if I do not want. I can play with cheaters on lichess.org for fun but I should have choice and freedom of choice.

"I have no idea where your numbers are coming from... on Lichess any player can conveniently register an account without a credit card and without being bombarded by ads, whereas on chess.com customers are less likely to abuse the service they are paying for. "

On chess.com there is not much ads and no credit card required or payment at all same like on lichess.org. At least from 2015 or earlier. You have wrong information and you have never play on chess.com without payment.

I play many games 5+5 on chess.com but number o cheaters is very low - comparing to 5+3 on lichess. At rank 1500 number of cheater on lichess is at least 4x times higher.

"Your suggestion about preventing new players from using site features has already been implemented in tournaments, but to directly answer your question that's a xenophobic policy designed to cause paranoia and alienate new players which I don't think is a good idea."

Maybe lichess programmers are xenophobic or lazy or they focus on maximizing number of accounts not on quality of play.
I am not xenophobic but not want to play with fresh created cheaters accounts at all - I am not greedy for new accounts :)

BTW xenophobic word means for some people "I do not agree with you even you have right". This word mean that you are not open on changes, culture differences and new people. I can say that you are not open on different people or my cultural difference because of you reaction on my suggestions but I have never said.

For me playing with Chess Engine on lichess having 1500 ranking because cheater use 10 depth analysis mode to play moves in 1s is waste of time. I will happy to play with Chess Engine on my own computer with deeper depth.

I suggest many more options that "trial period" preventing creation of new account without effort. For example to not ban cheaters forever to force them new account creations (for example give him 20 games trial to return to normal play).

Hah. Lies. On Lichess, cheaters get banned quickly.
Let me scroll through your games
Only constarints :
Lost
Blitz
Your games don't seem to have many cheaters.
Can you provide an example?
Edit: Actually, provide 25 or more examples.
#6 Thanks, I'll ask developers why this hasn't been updated.

I didn't accuse you of being xenophobic, but simply stated the conclusion that a policy which excludes new players is xenophobic by definition.

Lichess doesn't need to worry about maximizing its player count, but instead worry about keeping the server running and supporting new browsers and OSs.
