Will Alireza be the first human to be rated over 3000?

He first have to prove himself in rapid and classical. In my opinion he cant be even 2800+
Unlikely. To reach 3000 one would have get an aveta 0.75 points against very best players in world. So assume he allways wins on white the he still would need to win half of the games with black while never losing. winning half of your games with black against likes MC, karjakin, ...... not sure if that is doable
Many prodigies over chess history rise quickly in their teens only to stall out inexplicably later on like Henrique Mecking of Brazil. Firouzja has been greatly humbled over the last few months in rapid play after an unbelievably fast rise to 2700+. Who knows? He may rise to the top of the chess world with a few more years against the creme de la creme. However, he will never rise to 3000. No human has even topped 2900 in classical play. Magnus used to be, what, 2882 at his peak? Just to maintain that rating he has to continually score +2 or +3 in tournaments just to tread water in rating points.

Firouzja certainly has the potential to go to 2800 some day but 3000 isn't going to happen for him or any other non-silicon chess player.
I guess that in some years (maybe 2050-2080) a player will reach 3000 Elo. But it will defnitly be Alireza, because he is to old for that. He might reach 2900 though.
@petri999 I wonder what the average rating of the top 10 players is each year, is it trending up?

If it's trending up and it continues to trend up someone will eventually be the first to 3000 with a typical aveta
I guess so. At least the number one is trending up. Kasparov had about 2850 2005 and Carlsen had about 2880 at his peak.
