Open source, free, and confidence. Also, I think it's very 'clean'. Those are the reason why I love lichess and visit here every day.
Because of "clean" interface. Have you ever seen so transparent site other than lichess?

About 8 years ago my computer was telling me chess com was an unsafe website. Lol
what happens if you don't like lichess like @lichessiscrap and @lichessistheworst
Lichess is fun and anyone can play even children!
Not bloated, runs smoothly, very transparent with data.
