@l-____-l it's an easy question unless you don't play chess.
Me.
G Kadas, because he played the dubious 1.h4 so well
Bobby Fischer by far. No one will ever do what he did to Taimanov, Larsen, and Petrosian in the Candidates matches winning the matches by a combined score of 18.5 to 2.5 and shutting out Taimanov and Larsen 6-0 each. After Morphy, Fischer is the only guy to wipe players out completely. None of the modern World Champions before and since Fischer have ever come close to such annihilation. I love Fischer's games and I love the fact that he was never a "drawing master". Carlsen venerates Fischer and I respect that but Magnus is a drawing master. His World Championship against Caruana with 12 draws in 12 games was actually disgusting to me. His Championship against Karjakin was almost as bad with 10 draws in 12 games. So in his two most recent WC matches the score was 1-1 with 22 draws. Yuck.
Kasparov, for me. For his attacking, for his creativity, for his endurance at the top of the game.
Horsey is my favorite chess player (I'm sure horsey plays chess...) :)
Not my favorite, but a notable one is GM Rominishin for his opening innovations
Anish Giri for his twitter game.
nice ideas everyone :)
