When a player is clearly losing yet offers a draw...

Can we just make that a bannable offense? I can't tell whether it's BM or they're hoping for a missclick, but it pisses me off regardless.

did you decide to play a certain time limit? thats the risk of playing long games in lower elo ( same for me doe).
But doing mistakes and waiting for mistakes is a part of the game even in a losing position. So maybe you try playing some checkers :P jking
sincerly phil

That's just standard chess. If they banned people for doing that, this website wouldn't be for chess anymore; it would be for some weird variation that has too many rules.

What the hell are you guys talking about? It's not standard chess. It's a mechanism on a website being misused.

Just decline. No point getting all het up about it.

The best thing to do is simply ignoring it.
I was thaught it´s impolite to offer a draw when you´re standing worse or are weaker than the opponent. It seems a lot of people have a different oppinion

It's only being "misused" if you're careless enough to press the wrong button - and in that case, you're the one misusing it. The person offering a draw a simply offering a draw (ie, standard chess)

Sometimes my opponents have offered a draw in a clearly lost position, like after losing a Queen or two moves before mate. And sometimes I've even thought it's such a good joke that I've accepted it. Sorry for inciting unwanted behavior ;)

I've offered a draw a few times and it has always been a mistake. I meant to resign. The resign and draw buttons are right beside each other. Especially on the chess app on my phone.

I hate it when it happens as well... cause I figure the person with whom the draw was offered is thinking baddly of me.
