@MAGNus_204 all of my wins as white came via this opening.
If you want to go really aggressive with 1. d4 I recommend against the most common replies d5 and Nf6
1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. f3
1. d4 Nf6 2. g4 Nxg4 3. e4
Have fun :-)
1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. f3
1. d4 Nf6 2. g4 Nxg4 3. e4

What endings should you study tonight > ? It Rhymes with your title ... @sniperguy11 1d4 is fine as well as 1 Nf3 1c4 or 1e4 ... However it's not what you play but how you play it & study chess play chess repeat endings ok ?
I like to open with 1. e4, 1. d4, and 1. c4. I am aware that I might be asking for trouble if my opponent correctly plays the Sicilian. However, I don't really know very many 1. d4 openings, especially if my opponent plays 1... Nf6. I am usually in deep trouble if this happens. I enjoy playing the Queen's Gambit, but I can't say I know it very well. I once managed to get a draw against an opponent who was higher rated (I had thought the tournament was for people 1300 and below, but my opponent in this case was a little over 1400 and I was only 1100-something). I wasn't proud of myself. I was relieved he accepted my draw offer. Maybe I should have played on, but I had a rook which was trapped (we were playing some odd version of the English) and I was afraid to trade it for his bishop, which was a superior piece in that case.
I am trying to break some old habits, but I am doing a very poor job of it. I know it is occasionally a good idea to trade a rook for a minor piece, depending on the circumstances, but when it comes to actually making the trade, I am usually afraid to do it.
When I am playing chess against beginners, and the game is a friendly game (not rated), I sometimes play 1. Nf3 for variety. I am probably doing a very poor job of it, but it is more fun than sticking with 1. e4 in all of my games as white.

As white I like to play the Italian game.
I know a bit of every opening theory - the italian, danish, kings gambit, sicillian najdorf : english attack, etc etc. However, I mostly play d4 now, mostly for the trompowsky which is an opening I love.
I love d4 as white. Then c4 if d5 or Nf6 is played. I especially love the positions that arise from the queen's gambit, where the fight takes place on the queenside.
