What is the point of the King's gambit? I don't see why it is good.

The point is to make the opponent feel uncomfortable.
I've played against the king's gambit a lot, and because I don't know any theory I've lost many times. There is a way to refute the king's gambit, I think, though.
The point is to gambit your king.
Check out the Powerplaychess YouTube channel, run by GM Danny King. He's recently been running a little series of videos about the King's Gambit, all from the White perspective. The most recent one at the time of posting this comment is about the famous Spassky-Fischer game which reportedly left Fischer in tears.
