In its original implementation, before the new API was made available from Lichess, it definiteley had problems with the aforementioned new policies regarding that kind of custom clients (see, for instance, here: lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/false-positive-cheating-detected-using-dgt-board--add-software), so maybe they are still re-writing it to be compatible with the new guidelines, or maybe they have put it on hold

Holy Crap...the Acid Ape developers are absolutely toxic. reading their user reviews on the play store, and the devs responses to them...yech! i would never give those people a dime.

It would be soooo nice to use a DGT board for long time controls on Lichess. Like going to your local chess club from the comfort of your own home. I don't own a DGT board but I'd buy one just for that. If Lichess makes an exception for this client that's run in a shady way why can't they make an exception for something done in the spirit of free and open software? It's opposed to the Lichess philosophy.

@Stijn_B you could if you find (or write it yourself) an interface that follows the Lichess API described here ("lichess.org/api#tag/Chess-Bot") and comunicates with the board via the SDK available on the DGT website (see "http://www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/support1/dgt-software/dgt-e-board-chess-8x8" and also "http://www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/support1/dgt-software/unsupported/developers/driver-2-x").
However, you need to use a BOT account, you can't play as a "human"... apparently, the only exception to that is the app that is being discussed above, with the relative in-app purchase. The Chess Guard software mentioned in the previous post didn't make use of that API specifications, but rather emulated mouse and keyboard and so was subject to anti-cheating triggers, and I don't know if there are other new alternatives around
